Niyu Smart Stock for Odoo: Overview

Understand the planning workflow, main workspaces, and controls that turn Odoo demand and stock data into purchase and transfer actions.

Niyu Smart Stock gives inventory teams one planning workspace inside Odoo. It combines forecast demand, warehouse stock, incoming supply, ordering policy, internal transfer options, and planner decisions for each product and warehouse.

Screenshots and supported versions

This documentation applies to Odoo 16 through 19 and supported future major releases. Screenshots use Odoo 19; labels and menu placement may vary slightly by version while the planning workflow remains the same.

What it does

The module recommends what to review, buy, move, or fix. It does not confirm purchase orders or complete stock transfers automatically.

The planning workflow

  1. Collect: a forecast run reads eligible demand and the current product, warehouse, supply, and policy context.
  2. Plan: Odoo converts the returned forecast into a time-phased replenishment decision for each product and warehouse.
  3. Review: planners work from Planning Overview, Action Lines, Purchase Review, and Vendor Order Review.
  4. Execute: a manager can create or update draft RFQs and create internal transfer pickings after reviewing the recommendation.
  5. Measure: optional Planning Performance facts evaluate forecast quality, service, inventory, and planning impact as evidence matures.

What the main decisions mean

  • Buy: external purchasing is the next replenishment step.
  • Transfer: another eligible warehouse can cover the need in time.
  • Transfer + Buy: move available internal stock first and buy the remaining balance.
  • Setup Needed: the plan cannot be executed until a vendor, route, date, rule, or other required setup is corrected.
  • Watch or Covered: no immediate document is required, but the line remains visible for review.
  • Ignored: the product-warehouse line is intentionally outside the active queue.

Where users work

Workbench

Open Inventory > Niyu AI. Planning Overview is the daily control panel. Action Lines contain the current product-by-warehouse plan. Purchase Review focuses on editable purchase decisions. Vendor Order Review groups dated purchasing work by vendor and ordering profile.

Configuration

Planning Rules decide which policy applies to a product and warehouse. Ordering Profiles define continuous, recurring, or manually scheduled review dates. Purchase Schedule Profiles split a final purchase into batches. Exclusions, Transfer Networks, Bulk Update Rules, and Replacement Planning handle wider scope and exceptions.

Forecast Operations

Run Sync Now starts a manager-requested forecast. Runs shows job status and messages. Lead Time Suggestions and Analyze Lead Times provide reviewable evidence from completed receipts.

Planning Performance

Forecast Evaluation, Delivery Facts, Inventory Snapshots, and Impact Events support the non-operational dashboard tabs. These records collect over time and should not be confused with the current Action Lines.

A useful operating principle

Treat the forecast, the Planning Rule, and the execution workflow as separate layers. The forecast estimates future demand. The Planning Rule defines how the company protects service and places orders. The planner confirms the executable quantity and creates the appropriate Odoo document.

Current plan, not a historical ledger

Action Lines are refreshed by later completed runs. Use Runs for job history and Planning Performance records for durable evaluation evidence.
