Install and Connect Niyu Smart Stock

Install Niyu Smart Stock on a supported Odoo version, assign access, enter the API key, and confirm the database is ready for its first forecast run.

Install the complete addon package in a staging database first. Niyu Smart Stock depends on Odoo Inventory, Sales, Purchase, and Web, and its forecast service requires outbound HTTPS access.

Before installation

  • Confirm the database runs a supported Odoo major version and has the required Inventory, Sales, and Purchase applications.
  • Back up the database and filestore before an upgrade.
  • Deploy one complete module version. Do not mix newer views with older Python files.
  • Confirm the Odoo service can reach the internet over HTTPS.
  • Have the Niyu API key ready, but do not place it in screenshots, tickets, or source control.

Install from Odoo Apps

  1. Place the niyu_smart_stock addon in an Odoo addons path and restart Odoo so Python modules and assets reload.
  2. Enable developer mode if needed, open Apps, and update the Apps list.
  3. Search for AI Inventory Planning - Niyu Smart Stock and choose Install.
  4. Review the Odoo log for model, access, view, or asset errors before continuing.

Upgrade an existing database

  1. Back up the database and filestore.
  2. Deploy the complete new addon directory and restart Odoo before running the upgrade.
  3. Upgrade Niyu Smart Stock from Apps or with your normal controlled command-line process.
  4. Hard-refresh browser assets after upgrades that change the dashboard, Demand History, or settings interface.
  5. Validate settings, access, Planning Overview, Action Lines, one forecast run, one draft RFQ, and one internal transfer in staging.

Do not use uninstall as an upgrade method

Uninstalling can remove Niyu planning records and configuration. Use a normal module upgrade after restarting Odoo with the complete code package.

Enter the API key

  1. Open Settings > Niyu Smart Stock.
  2. Paste the key in Connection & First Run > API Key.
  3. Click Save at the top of the Settings page.
  4. Use Run Initial Sync only after user access and source data have been checked.

The module settings are in the dedicated Niyu Smart Stock settings page. They are not added to Odoo's native Inventory settings.

Open Settings > Niyu Smart Stock > Connection & First Run. Enter the key, save, then start the first sync after access and source data are ready.

Assign access

Open Settings > Users & Companies > Users, select a user, and set Niyu Forecast Access. The user must also have normal access to the relevant Odoo companies, warehouses, products, purchase documents, and stock operations.

Connection checks

  • The Settings page shows that an API key has been entered.
  • Run Initial Sync or Inventory > Niyu AI > Run Sync Now opens a Run instead of a connection error.
  • The Run receives status updates and eventually reaches Done.
  • Planning Overview shows the latest run and Action Lines can be opened.

Security boundary

Keep API keys restricted to administrators. Forecast users and managers do not need to see the key to work with planning results.
