Install, Upgrade, and Connect Niyu Smart Stock

Install the correct Odoo-version addon, assign access, connect the company, and validate a safe staging rollout.

Install the complete addon package in a staging database first. Use the addon branch built for the exact Odoo major version; do not copy an Odoo 19 module over an Odoo 16 database or mix files from different releases.

Compatibility

Niyu Smart Stock maintains separate Odoo 16 through 19 addon lines. The advanced workflow documented here is validated in detail on Odoo 19. Confirm the feature list and upgrade path for another major version before rollout.

Before installation

  • Back up the database and filestore.
  • Confirm Inventory, Sales, Purchase, and Web are installed and outbound HTTPS is allowed.
  • Obtain the Niyu API key. Never place it in screenshots, tickets, or source control.
  • Deploy one complete addon version and restart Odoo before installation or upgrade.

Install or upgrade

  1. Place niyu_smart_stock in an Odoo addons path and restart Odoo.
  2. Open Apps, update the Apps list if needed, and install AI Inventory Planning - Niyu Smart Stock.
  3. For an upgrade, deploy the complete new directory, restart Odoo, then run Upgrade. Do not use uninstall and reinstall as the normal upgrade method.
  4. Review the server log for model, access, view, action, or asset errors.
  5. Hard-refresh browser assets after JavaScript, QWeb, or style changes.

Assign access

  1. Open Settings > Users & Companies > Users.
  2. Open the user and set Niyu Forecast Access to User or Manager.
  3. Also grant the normal Odoo company, Inventory, Purchase, and warehouse access required for that role.

Connect the company

Niyu settings live on their own Settings > Niyu Smart Stock page, not inside native Inventory settings.
  1. Open Settings > Niyu Smart Stock.
  2. Enter the API key under Connection & First Run and Save.
  3. Review the company defaults before the first sync. Do not rely on a connection check as proof that business data is ready.
  4. Use Run Initial Sync only after products, warehouses, demand, stock, vendors, UoMs, exclusions, and a suitable Planning Rule have been checked.

Staging acceptance

  • Open Inventory Control Tower, Planning Overview, Action Lines, Demand History, and Runs.
  • Complete one forecast run and reconcile representative fast, slow, intermittent, stockout, periodic, multi-warehouse, and packed-UoM products.
  • Create and inspect one draft RFQ and one internal transfer. Do not confirm production documents during installation testing.
