Inventory Control Tower: Time-Phased Planning

Read projected stock by day, week, or month, focus on the right workflow, group and filter large portfolios, and act from one explainable planning board.

Inventory Control Tower is the primary visual workspace for daily planning. It projects the current Action Lines across time; it does not create a second forecast or replace the Action Line calculation.

Menu path

Open Inventory > Niyu AI > Workbench > Inventory Control Tower. The Niyu AI menu opens this view by default.

The full-width board combines risk, demand, included receipts, recommended receipts, action dates, grouping, and time controls.

Start with a workflow lens

  • Inventory Risk: stockout and below-safety lines that need attention.
  • Buying Plan: current and upcoming purchase work.
  • Rebalancing: internal transfer and transfer-plus-buy opportunities.
  • Exceptions: demand reviews, blockers, and other attention states.
  • All Inventory: the complete current product-and-warehouse planning set.

The compact totals show Buy Now, Upcoming Purchases, Transfers, Reviews, and Blockers for the active company and filters.

Control what you see

  • Search by product, SKU, or vendor.
  • Choose 30, 60, 90, or 120 days. This changes the view, not the backend forecast result.
  • Choose Adaptive, Day, Week, or Month buckets.
  • Combine warehouse, vendor, category, Ordering Profile, Planning Rule, inventory status, action, execution status, and timing filters.
  • Group by warehouse, vendor, category, profile, action, or status. Groups are collapsible.
  • Save a personal company-scoped view when the same filters and grouping are used regularly.

Selecting a group selects every current-page line below it, including lines hidden by a collapsed group. The group checkbox becomes mixed when only some descendants are selected.

Read a product row

  • The left side identifies product, warehouse, vendor, Ordering Profile, current coverage status, next action, action date, and free stock.
  • Stockout, Below safety, Resolved by plan, Healthy, and Above target colors describe the projected closing position.
  • A dashed cell is a run-rate projection beyond the received forecast horizon. It repeats the current 30-day rate and is not a backend forecast.

Read a time cell

  • Large number: projected closing stock after recommended actions.
  • Days value: projected days of coverage at the end of the period.
  • No action: projected closing stock using only supply already included by the Planning Rule.
  • Down arrow: forecast demand in the period.
  • Truck: dated receipt already included by the Planning Rule.
  • Lightbulb: unexecuted recommended receipt.
  • Calendar check: the planner action date falls in this period.

Hover a cell for a compact explanation. Click it to open the complete decision drawer for that product, warehouse, and time bucket.

Use the decision drawer

Inventory Control Tower decision drawer showing a two-line stock projection and period ledger
The drawer keeps included supply separate from the recommended plan and reconciles opening stock, receipts, demand, and closing stock.
  • Read the recommendation, Act by date, expected receipt, and projected stockout first.
  • Create an eligible RFQ or transfer, open Demand Review, or inspect linked documents using the existing Action Line actions.
  • Edit Planner Purchase Quantity, enter a reason, set an explicit zero, or reset to the system suggestion.
  • Gray projection means no new Niyu action. Teal means after recommended buy or transfer. Below zero means projected stockout.
  • The ledger proves Opening + Included receipts + Recommended receipts - Forecast demand = Closing inventory.
  • Open Demand History, Planning Rule, Ordering Profile, Purchase Review, or the full Action Line for deeper evidence.

Bulk work

Select rows or a whole group, then use the eligible bulk actions for RFQs, transfers, Demand Review, or Ignore. The browser shows only actions appropriate for the selection, and the server revalidates every business rule before writing.

Longer forecast horizon warning

Choose Show Lines to isolate products whose lead time, ordering cycle, safety period, or preparation window exceeds the received forecast horizon. The sync automatically requests the largest required horizon across active Planning Rules, capped by the backend plan limit. A blocked line must not be treated as a trustworthy periodic order quantity.

Projection is not execution

Recommended receipts remain separate from real included supply until the RFQ, PO, or transfer becomes eligible supply under the selected Planning Rule.

Use the authoritative record when a calculation, setup condition, or linked document needs full detail.
