User Roles and Company Access
Assign Forecast User or Forecast Manager access while preserving Odoo company, warehouse, purchasing, and inventory security.
Niyu access is layered on top of normal Odoo security. A user can see only the companies and business records allowed by their Odoo access, even when a Niyu role is assigned.
Set a user's role
- Open Settings > Users & Companies > Users.
- Select the user.
- Set Niyu Forecast Access to No Access, User, or Manager.
- Save and test with a non-administrator account.
No Access
The user does not receive Niyu planning menus or access to Niyu planning records.
Forecast User
Use this role for reviewers who need to inspect Planning Overview, Action Lines, Runs, forecast evidence, and performance facts but should not change core planning configuration or create replenishment documents.
Forecast Manager
Use this role for inventory planners, buyers, and implementation owners who may run syncs, maintain rules and profiles, set planner quantities, use bulk actions, create draft RFQs, and create internal transfers.
Odoo Administrator
Administrators manage Settings > Niyu Smart Stock, install or upgrade the addon, assign roles, and maintain technical scheduled actions when needed. Administrator access does not replace the need to test the intended planner role.
Additional Odoo access still applies
- Company access controls which companies appear in searches and dashboards.
- Inventory access controls products, warehouses, pickings, and stock operations.
- Purchase access controls RFQs and purchase orders.
- Standard record rules continue to protect multi-company data.
- Financial planning details may require manager-level access even when operational KPIs are visible.
Recommended separation of duties
- Reviewer: Forecast User, with read access to the required operational records.
- Planner or buyer: Forecast Manager, with appropriate Purchase and Inventory rights.
- Warehouse executor: normal Inventory rights for processing linked transfers; a Niyu manager role is needed only when creating transfers from Action Lines.
- System owner: Odoo Administrator for settings, upgrades, and scheduled-action supervision.
Test real permissions
Do not validate security only with the administrator account. Check menu visibility, Action Line access, document buttons, company switching, and financial drill-downs with representative User and Manager accounts.
Run and Validate the First Forecast
Start the first forecast, monitor its run, review the resulting planning queue, and validate representative products before execution.
Configure Planning Rules
Use Planning Rules to resolve product, category, vendor, warehouse, ordering, stockout, transfer, supply, and quantity behavior from one scope layer.
