Configure Niyu Smart Stock Company Settings
Set the company defaults for connection, demand inputs, stockouts, exceptional demand, internal rebalancing, lead-time learning, performance collection, and forecast capacity.
Use the dedicated Niyu Smart Stock settings page for company-wide defaults. Planning Rules remain the place for narrower product, vendor, category, and warehouse overrides.
Menu path
Open Odoo Settings > Niyu Smart Stock. These controls are not placed in Odoo's native Inventory settings. Click Save before running a forecast.

Connection and first run
- Enter the API Key supplied for this Odoo database.
- Click Save at the top of Settings.
- Use Run Initial Sync only after roles, source data, and planning scope have been checked.
The Plan & Capacity block is a stored snapshot from the latest service response. Opening Settings does not contact the forecasting service. It shows the current tier, SKU and refresh limits, maximum forecast horizon, backend model label, and snapshot time when available.
Forecast inputs
Archived products
Keep archived products out of future payloads and ignore their existing Action Lines on the next sync.
POS demand
Confirmed Sales Orders are the normal demand source. Enable POS Demand only when validated Point of Sale transactions represent additional real demand and map to the correct warehouse. Do not enable it when the same sale is already represented as a Sales Order.
Obsolete and replacement planning
Enable this when a successor product should inherit an explicit share of demand from an obsolete item. Complete the product-level replacement mapping before the next sync.
Stockout handling
- Flag only: show stockout evidence without changing forecast demand. This is the safest calibration default.
- Estimate constrained demand: allow a conservative estimate only for confirmed zero-sales stockout days with enough evidence. Recorded sales are never removed.
- Ignore stock availability: use recorded demand as-is when zero stock is intentional or unmet demand is already captured elsewhere.
Use Planning Rule overrides for made-to-order, project, service, seasonal, intermittent, or backorder-driven products instead of changing the company default for every item.
Exceptional demand
- Off: do not detect unusual completed demand windows.
- Flag for review: show unusual spikes or dips without blocking normal document execution.
- Require review: block RFQ and transfer execution for unresolved material anomalies while keeping the recommendation visible.
Keep the standard sensitivity, lookback, minimum-history, and minimum-impact values during the first calibration period. Change them only after reviewing false positives and missed events.
Internal rebalancing
Enable or disable internal rebalancing globally, choose Transfer first then buy, Buy directly, or Internal transfer only, then choose the allowed warehouse scope and default transfer lead time. Transfer Networks and Planning Rules narrow this behavior.
Lead-time learning
When enabled, receipt history can produce reviewable average, median, and P80 lead-time suggestions. Suggestions never change rules automatically; a manager applies or ignores each one.
Planning performance
Enable Performance Analytics before you need historical KPIs. Forecast, delivery, inventory, and impact facts collect incrementally and need time to mature. Treat Collecting Baseline, Missing Cost Data, and Insufficient Samples as evidence states, not zero performance.
Recommended rollout defaults
- Stockout handling: Flag only until availability evidence is reviewed.
- Exceptional demand: Flag for review during calibration, then Require review if the team wants execution blockers.
- Internal rebalancing: keep the upgrade default Transfer first then buy only after warehouse routes and donor roles are verified.
- Performance Analytics: enable before the measurement period and keep financial assumptions blank until the business approves them.
Company defaults are not the final answer for every product
A more specific Planning Rule can override stockout, exceptional-demand, ordering, supply, quantity, and transfer behavior. Always confirm the Applied Rule Summary on a representative Action Line.
Apply company defaults to the right products, vendors, categories, and warehouses.
Configure Planning RulesRun and Validate the First Forecast
Create the first planning snapshot, reconcile representative products, and validate controlled RFQ and transfer execution.
Configure Planning Rules
Apply timing, protection, supply, stockout, rebalancing, and executable quantity policy through one transparent scope-resolution layer.
